About Santa Joe
Since the beginning of this millennium, I have portrayed Santa Claus in nearly every way possible—from major parades and commercials to countless photo shoots and serving as a Mall Santa. I have attended numerous conventions, trained at Santa schools (both as a student and a teacher), and even visited reindeer farms. Over the years, I made it my true vocation to study the origins and legends of St. Nicholas to understand our present-day Santa Claus.
I began my journey with a cheap, standard suit (which I do not recommend!) and worked my way up to custom-made suits, boots, bells, and bling. Throughout this entire adventure, my lovely wife, Mrs. Claus, has worked right alongside me, bringing joy and hugs to tens of thousands of children of all ages.
While How to be Santa Claus is my very first nonfiction book, I have written and published 16 other books, including an award-winning children’s series about Santa’s elves.
Today, I share these decades of firsthand experience through our popular video series and this companion guide. I decided to create these videos and this book because so many people have asked me how to begin portraying Santa Claus themselves. Through our video series, I pass on my real-world experiences and impart everything I know about how and where to step into the suit.
